Casa Sofia is a beautifully restored colonial home located in the heart of the Old City of Cartagena. When restored, the original walls made of coral and brick were carefully preserved. It is located in the neighborhood of Getsemani, known for its role as the birthplace of the Independence of Cartagena and its vibrant cultural scene including restaurants, salsa venues, neighborhood baseball played in the streets and the famous San Trinidad Church and its lively plaza.
Getsemani is one of the most important neighborhoods in the city, given that it is the location of the birth of the Independence just steps from the house in 1811. Currently, the Convention Center Julio Cesar Turbay Ayala, the Church of the Tercera Orden, Centenario Park, and the Camellon de los Martires are all located here.
